Content Writing and Blog Management Intern needed within a growing beauty tech start-up for a minimum of 2 months with a view of having the internship extend to a further 2-3 months upon successful passing of your probationary period.

The internship is remote, unpaid and would begin immediately. If you are a recent graduate, in the early stages of your career, or a student looking to further develop your writing talents and are looking for a part-time internship to gain experience then this is the perfect opportunity for you.

A little about us

We are a London based tech firm who have created an interactive discovery platform to assist curly, kinky and Afro haired women in finding hair professionals in their area. Our web-based tool enables customers to search, book and review hair stylists in their area who can better handle their hair and has been featured in a number of well known outlets such as BBC Radio 5 Live and promoted in panels ran by the likes of Google.

What you’ll be doing:

- You'll be article writing – including editorial posts, quick top tips pieces surrounding new products or haircare methods, interview write-ups, question and answer copy to send to influencers.

- You'll be consistently optimising written content for SEO

- You'll be researching editorial concepts and other ideas for content for example trend reports, tutorials and tips you see on other platforms or forums and feedback to the senior team with angles for us to curate for our blog.

- You'll be working closely with the social media team to ensure content you generate is successfully posted on all active and relevant socials to ensure synergy with blog promotion.

- You'll be creating email newsletters and writing copy for outreach emails to prospective partners, influencers or media where required.

- You'll be maintaining and scheduling blog posts in line with our social and editorial calendar.

- You'll be researching and keeping up to date with beauty news and trends and reflecting new trends and news on the blog via blog posts and other creative content.

- You'll be generating questions and angles for conducting remote interviews with influencers and key stakeholders in the hair and beauty industry and using the answers to write up copy to publish to the blog.

- You'll be using tools such as Canva to create graphics and images for the blog posts, and ensuring they are correctly sized and optimised for the relevant socials they'll be promoted on to give to the social media intern, and actively browsing free image and media sites for relevant, hi-resolution photos that match the content to import into the blog alongside the write ups.


What we’re looking for?

We are looking for a talented creative writer and social-media savvy individual ideally with an interest in hair and beauty to join us as one of our Content Writers and Blog Manger for a minimum of 2 months. This is an amazing opportunity to work with a young, innovative and passionate team and get exposure to various parts of the beauty tech sector whilst growing your literary skills and CV with a first hand work experience.

We are looking for a candidate that will be in charge of an editorial content published on our blog who is able to work in multiple fields inclusive of SEO to ensure all blogs are fully optimised and searchable on Google. We are also looking for someone who is open to bringing new ideas to the table for new blogs and who has fantastic written skills, with English as their first/native language.

You will also need to have the ability to follow social trends, cultural events and news in our sector and develop reactive newsworthy angles for blog posts and articles consistently that will effectively speak to our demographic of textured haired UK women.

We also need a candidate to be comfortable with reaching out to influencers for blogger spotlights and interviews as well as other brands for guest posts and cross content collaborations and be able to come up with intelligent and new ways we can generate engaging and interesting content to drive as much consistent traffic and new subscribers to the site as possible.
