The Spring/Summer 2013collection draws inspiration from the "summer window". Jade takes his imaginings of what he sees through the window in summer and reflects this through different layers of fabrics. These playful elements are reflected in his designs by using contrasting colours, panel blocking and three-dimensional cutting to create contemporary and elegant dresses. The collection features a primary colour palette of soft nudes and pastel colours. This season, Jade Kang’ s collection is once again representative of urban Romanticism; chic cutting lines creating different lengths with a see through effect achieved by using very light chiffon with different colour layers in creamy soft natural colours. Born and raised in Korea, Jade Kang studied Fine Arts and Fashion Design in his home city of Seoul before moving to London in 2002 and graduating from London College of Fashion in 2005 to critical acclaim. Upon graduating Jade worked for Giles at Giles Deacon Studios and was head hunted by Melt London in 2006. Jade’s formidable skills also as a Pattern Cutter led to associated work with Alexander McQueen and Jonathan Saunders. Known in fashion circles for his wild ‘big’ hair masking a delicate ‘small’ ego, this edgy designer transformed his inner rebel into an outer uptown label by unleashing his own design culture in 2007 and JADE KANG the label was born. In SS11 he was selected by John Galliano as a Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden finalist
