Lockdown has been difficult for our members, many are isolated and have missed coming into Claremont. We are now able to re-open the centre and are recruiting a Centre door keeper to help us keep everyone safe. Interested candidates should send an updated CV and a letter of interest.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Centre Doorkeeper
Aims of the post:
• To manage the entry and exit of people wanting to visit the centre
• To help people feel safe and looked after when visiting the centre
Main duties and responsibilities include:
•Opening up the building in the mornings and closing it in the evenings
•Controlling the number of people entering the building to the levels agreed with the CEO
•Ensuring that all visitors to the building have appointments or are expected by Claremont or our tenants
•Being willing and able to stop people entering the Claremont building where appropriate and necessary, including calling the police if needed
Entrance Procedures – Role Duties:
There are a few steps we are implementing for people entering the building and this role manages some of these, including:
•Asking all visitors to wear face coverings while in the building, including over their noses (except where there is a medical exemption)
•Issuing masks where people have not got one
•Taking the temperature of visitors using a contactless thermometer and asking those with high temperatures to leave and seek medical advice
•Asking visitors to use the hand sanitisers at the entrance and denying entry to those refusing to use it
•Directing Claremont members to the queue for Reception, pointing out the Social Distancing markers on the floor
•Directing visitors to our tenants’ offices, ensuring that the visitor knows who they are visiting
•Making sure visitors follow our One-Way system
•Receiving deliveries for Reception
•The post requires complete honesty and the highest regard for the welfare of those attending Claremont.
•The post-holder will be friendly and kind and caring about the safety and health of everyone coming to Claremont. Claremont is all about high quality friendships and this post is no exception. It is likely that the post-holder will do a lot of chatting with visitors to the building, while also at all times maintaining door security.
Hours: 35 hours per week (9am to 5pm, 5 days/week. 1 hour for lunch)
Salary: £12/hr, 7hrs/day
Term: Initial contract of 6 months (September 2020 through January 2021)
Holiday and benefits as per employee handbook.

The right candidate should be friendly, welcoming, and happy to spend a large majority of their time chatting with isolated older adults whilst working hard to keep everyone safe.
