Description: Looking Glass Collective is looking for a social media and editorial assistant. You’ll be responsible for developing the aesthetic on the social media channels, researching topics for editorial content and contributing ideas for the monthly radio show. This role would suit someone who has an interest in visual arts, publishing or broadcast media. Main responsibilities: • Management and growth of social media channels (writing, scheduling, posting etc.) • Community management and social listening across social media channels • Editorial content research: for art exhibition reviews, as well as podcast, music, book and film reviews etc. • Contributing to monthly radio show • Informal reporting of social media channels • Attending press events and acting as an ambassador for Looking Glass Collective Desired Qualifications and Skills • Must have an active interest/ basic knowledge of contemporary African art, music, film, culture etc. • Understanding of social media (Instagram, Facebook) • A degree (or currently completing a degree) in journalism, communications, marketing, creative writing, art history or a related field • An interest in podcasting/ broadcast media • Strong written and communication skills • Great attention to detail • Comfortable with independent and remote working We welcome all applications, but encourage applications from individuals from the black African diaspora.
