Attention college/university students/graduates We are looking for a Beauty and sales intern to join our team on a 1 week internship to start on the 20th September 2021 finishing on the 25th September 2021. The position is for 4-5 hours per day starting at 9am and finishing at 2pm (we are happy to work around your studies). You will be based in the makeup department of John Lewis in Solihull, Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for the intern to gain work experience that will help them get a leg up in their chosen profession. The intern will get an insight on entrepreneurship and have the opportunity to be a part of the rebrand of a cruelty free, vegan and natural makeup brand here to make a difference. The intern will also learn customer service and communication skills, commercial awareness, responsibility and numeracy, all of which show you have the attitude and abilities employers want. What are you going to do: Serve customers by helping them select products. Drive sales through the engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge. Greet and receive customers in a welcoming manner. Respond to customer questions. Provide outstanding customer service. Document sales by creating or updating customer profile records. Manage financial transactions. Process payments by totalling purchases, processing checks, cash, and store or other credit and debit cards. Assist with inventory, including receiving and stocking merchandise. Keep clientele informed by notifying them of preferred customer sales and future merchandise of potential interest. Please note we are in the process of rebranding which will be completed by the beginning of September. When selling in John Lewis the brand will be under the new name of Aura-Lotus.
