We are looking for people interested and passionate about becoming presenters on the radio. If you have the desire and drive to do this, you are just who we have been looking for. In this position, you will be the face or voice of programmes broadcast via radio and the internet. Your role is to entertain and inform an audience by presenting information or entertainment in an accessible and attractive way. You'll introduce, host (or co-host) a programme, create links between items, introduce and interview guests and interact with the audience. The exact nature of the job may vary according to a programme's subject matter, for example, if it covers news, weather, sport, music or lifestyle. You do not need to have any experience but you must have the ability to learn very quickly and work under pressure. You will also be required to work on the back end of the business to work on some administrative tasks to support other presenters and shows on the station as well as manage and or contribute to social media content on the station’s social media pages. Responsibilities As a broadcast presenter, you'll need to: 1. research topics and background information for items to be featured on the programme 2. plan and rehearse shows as well as write and sometimes memorise scripts, autocue or improvise 3. liaise with other members of the production and technical teams 4. introduce and host programmes as well as interview guests in the studio, by telephone, or on location 5. play music, read short news, traffic, sport, or weather reports and provide links between programmes 6. in radio, 'drive' the desk and operate some of the technical equipment for recording and playback, using computers to cue up and play music and jingles 7. keep the programme running to schedule, responding positively and quickly to problems or changes and improvising where necessary 8. in television, keep in contact with the director and production team in the studio gallery, via earpiece link 9. meet with the production crew to assess or review a broadcast, and to plan the next one. 10. Some administrative tasks such as customer services support to the team will be required daily after the radio show. 11. Social media management during specified hours.
