Company Overview: Black & Beech was founded in 2016, and our goal is to create fashion informed by feminism in the most ethical way we can. We are ambitious in our goals to be at the forefront of feminist fashion in the UK and deliver a quality product to all women that is original and inspiring. Overview: We are seeking a current student who is looking for a work placement as part of their professional development and to supplement their learning. The fashion design placement is to assist our team with all aspects of the design process from research and concept development to creating tech packs for production and following the sampling journey. The ideal candidate will be passionate about ethical and sustainable fashion. Responsibilities: - Assist the design team with research and inspiration for new collections. - Create technical drawings on illustrator. - Create and update tech packs and spec sheets. - Confident measuring garments. - Attend fittings and assist with sample development. - Collaborate with the design team to create mood boards. Qualifications/Skills: - Currently pursuing a degree in fashion design or a related field. - Digital software skills such as Adobe Creative suite, illustrator photoshop and inDesign - Eye for colour - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. - Passion for ethical fashion & feminism. - Creative. - Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
