Companies sometimes get plenty of applications for one internship, which prevents them from acknowledging each one of them. But there are measures that you should and can take to boost your chances of getting shortlisted, if you truly want to hear back.
Here are some strategies for getting a quick reply from companies:
1. Send Your CV to the Right Person
Send your CV to the Head of the Department who is also looking for an intern, instead of merely sending it to the HR. An application is usually simpler to move down the job ladder than it is up, so you can enhance your chances of getting viewed from the top.2. Follow Up with a Phone Call
Take the initiative by calling a recruitment manager to learn the next steps and respond to any inquiries. Express your passion and excitement for the task by leading rather than lingering. Don't be excessively demanding if you employ this technique. Give them some time too.3. Use Relevant Keywords in Your Resume
Ensure your resume includes relevant keywords from the internship description to pass through applicant tracking systems effectively. Your CV should easily pass their ATS (Application Tracking Systems).4. Format Your Resume Properly
Use a clearly defined font (size 10–12), big margin and the left alignment to pass the application screening system. Verify that your request has reached the next stage. Focus on incorporating essential competences using the job description of the internship.5. Reach Out to Confirm Receipt
You can simply place a call to them. The HR department or the department head might be contacted or emailed. Ask if your request has been received and reaffirm your interest in the role. At times this step becomes necessary but don't make it a habit.6. Apply to Multiple Internships​
It may not be the ideal atmosphere to work at, if you keep applying but never hear back from someone. You should apply for several internships to improve your chances of success. Somebody's going to be in contact eventually!Getting an internship does not have to be a difficult process. The search itself—the act of applying these ideas over and over again—is the most valuable thing you can do since it builds the experience while starting your profession.
