Why should you Intern with a Small Business
Big companies have a lot to offer in terms of benefits, pay, and offices, but when it comes to getting ahead in your career, bigger doesn't always mean better.
When you know this, it's not surprising that more than 80% of people who work for small businesses think it's more fun to work for a small company than a big one.
Since you're not a small fish in a big pond, your hard work and efforts will be easy to see. With a smaller company, it will be easier to talk to the top management and find out about skills and projects that might have been given to a senior partner or manager at a bigger company.

1.    You're able to advance up the ladder rapidly.
It means that you'll have fewer competitors fighting for the same managerial roles if your organisation is tiny. Be successful, and you'll soon be given greater responsibility.

2.    Many roles will be available to you.
A small firm survives by assembling a team of hard-working individuals who aren't afraid to play tough. There is a lot of overlap between job titles. This way, you'll learn how to accomplish chores on your own, rather than depending on others.

3.    Eventually, you'll be able to accomplish your goal.
A small business's operations and the influence of each employee are typically easy to understand. Corporate jargon is less prevalent, therefore it's easier to understand what individuals truly do. Firms thus, help them reach their goals quickly.

4.    You'll be working with top executives more closely.
Once a year, you may encounter your boss's boss instead of working in the same office. Your employers will be considerably fewer. In smaller companies, the org-chart tends to be flatter than in larger ones, exposing you to top management frequently.

5.    There will be a lot of companionship among the participants.
Small enterprises rely heavily on teamwork. This is a great opportunity for you to get to know your co-workers because you'll spend long hours with them. Small teams, deeper networking.

6.    You’ll develop a strong working connection with your manager.
Having a smaller team allows managers and workers to get to know each other better. This means that your boss will be able to write a positive recommendation for you, for next roles regardless of whether you stay with the firm.

7.    New ideas are welcomed.
When it comes to your ideas, you're able to move swiftly. A plan can be tested fast and easily without a lot of bureaucracy. You're free to try new things.
If you want to test new ideas, you'll have lots of opportunities—and you'll be encouraged to do so! When they make decisions, they'll keep you in mind (and not always the bottom line). It's far easier for small, privately-owned firms to take innovative risks, let plans play out, and pay attention to their lower-level employees.

8.    You'll be able to do more with your time.
Due to the fact that small businesses are less bound by policy and precedent than large corporations, they may be more flexible with remote work and other aspects of their business operations.

9.    You'll be able to experiment with new tools more freely.
You gain a sense of pride in what you've created. Most small company employees, believe they have the chance to share their viewpoints and have them acknowledged.

To conclude, when working for a smaller company, you may be able to interact with and contribute to a wider range of projects and teams. You'll have a set position, but you'll also be able to branch out into different projects if you want to learn more about a potential new career path.
Companies of all sizes place a premium on employees who can effectively juggle multiple responsibilities. In addition, the knowledge and experience gained in a start-up can help you stand out from the crowd.
