You finally got the internship you always dreamt of, congratulations to you! But did you take a pause and actually scan the pros and cons of the organisation before you applied? Or did you just get attracted to the shiny reviews and glamorous office pictures posted on their social media profiles?

We bet most graduates prefer to focus only on the good of any company rather than evaluating the workplace thoroughly.
While salary is important, factors like company culture, workplace environment, and the organization's mission and values significantly influence long-term job satisfaction. This article sheds light some factors candidates must look for before joining an employer.

1) Career Growth Opportunities

Check out their career growth plans and processes through contacts or by visiting their website. The more a company is expanded, larger are the opportunities to grow and show your potential. Such companies have more divisions and branches to work into.

2) Company Culture

It’s an important aspect for any candidate to look into, because that’s how they will be able to work better. It will be a measurement of your job satisfaction level. Good culture increases productivity and employee happiness, and vice versa.

3) Training and Development

If the candidates cannot trust their employer to work on their professional improvement through various training modules, sessions, webinars, courses, certifications, and what not, then it would be tough for them to stay true to their work and company. Hence, candidates must search for this aspect very well, before joining any company.

4) Perks and Benefits

These days, motherhood plans, fitness zones, meditation arena, health benefits are kind of a default for any good company to have a happy and healthy employee. It may not be necessary for every company to have all of these features, but if they don’t have any of these, and expect their employees to just work and increase revenue, then my friend, working at such a place is not worth your time and efforts.

5) Work-Life Balance

Even though this is a hyped facet, candidates must get an insight if the company has some level of work-life balance or not. It’s important to have the clarity on this front since in order to prove your worth, you can’t work 24×7.

Now that you understand what you need to pay attention to, while choosing your employer, start your job search with an active mindset. That would help you swerve your energies into the right direction, instead of putting you in tough, helpless situations.
