6 Important Tips to Resourcefully Wrap Up your Internship

There are many factors to consider when deciding to conclude an internship, including the availability of full-time employment or the desire to gain more experience in a specific field. If you leave in a manner that expands your professional network and gives you valuable new experience, you'll be better prepared to move on to the next stage of your career. Finding out how to use this to your advantage can help you move forward in your career in ways that are most beneficial to you. Here we give you six important tips to resourcefully wrap your internship.

6 Important Tips to Resourcefully Wrap Up your Internship
With your last few days at internship arrive, it's time to maximise your learnings. Attempt to learn as much as you can and interact with your batch mates extensively yet meaningfully. Internship employment may be highly beneficial to both you and your employer. Your employer and co-workers' impressions of you are just as essential. So that you and the firm you work for are both pleased, follow this checklist on how to wind up an internship.

Begin by submitting a request for assessment.
Waiting until the end of your internship to seek for a formal review from your supervisor is a waste of time and resources. DO NOT WAIT, I repeat, DO NOT WAIT.
Ask for an assessment from your manager. Provide them enough notice so that they may plan a meeting with you and have adequate opportunity to watch you and develop insightful remarks. This shows maturity, commitment and a willingness to develop.

Don't back off on your efforts!
An ending internship does not mean that you may ignore any last projects your supervisor assigns. This is a great opportunity to ask your employer and co-workers if there are any loose ends that need to be tied up before your internship ends.

Find out if there are any alternative internships or positions available.
Please let your supervisor know whether you're interested in working as an intern again or applying for a full-time position after you graduate. You may also tell them why you loved your internship and inquire about future chances. In the event that your employer states that he or she is unsure about future prospects, ask whether you may contact them or anybody else from the firm about the same thing later on.

Network
In the past, sharing phone numbers and email addresses was the major means of staying in touch after an internship. Exchange of information is still a must, but should be accompanied by other professional modes. By connecting externally, you can network with other interns or other team-mates from the company.
As a result, you may analyse their careers, ask for guidance, or even ask for recommendations using this relationship. Your future employment possibilities may be influenced by these connections.

Updating your Online Profiles, Portfolio, and CV
With enough expertise under your belt, it's time to beef up your profile. For future job interviews, you should keep copies of your finished work. Update your CV and LinkedIn profile to reflect your accomplishments and showcase your skills. Also, make sure all your colleagues are connected on Social media platforms while you're at it.

What did you learn from your internship?
Evaluate your experience with the firm and jot down all your achievements so that you don't forget them in the future. Work colleagues may be willing to give you testimonials on your performance and areas for improvement. Request for the same.

Never forget to say good-bye.
You must say goodbye, even if you didn't have a close relationship with individuals you worked with during the internship. You don't want your colleagues to feel out-of-sight, out-of-mind for you, right?
As an alternative to ghosting, thank the team you worked with in an email for the chance to learn from them. Share your learnings from your co-workers and how those abilities will help you in your future profession, may be in person or through a separate email.

It's not like every internship will lead to your 'future career,' but there are those that will. An internship, essentially is a great way to get experience and build your CV. It's important to be honest with your boss if he or she asks you for feedback on your internship.
Tell them why it wasn't a good fit for you and offer recommendations on how it could have gone better. In the end, be respectful and professional in your dealings with others. Be wary about sharing negative experiences with others. Have constructive thought process.
