Grabbing Interview Opportunities

Signs that Show You Rocked your Intern Interview

Before we get started, a polite footnote: there are no surefire signals during the interview process. The upcoming developments are hopeful in nature, but they are by no means a certainty. Therefore, just because these factors didn't occur during your interview doesn't always rule out a successful outcome. Got an Idea? Great. Let's speak about how to tell if you've impressed your interviewer and are moving closer to being hired.

Signs that Show You Rocked your Intern Interview
Interviews can be nerve-wracking, but waiting for confirmation days later is even worse! So, how can you, as an aspiring intern, calm your anxieties and evaluate the circumstances? How can you tell if your video interview was a flop or a success? The first thing to note is that waiting a few more days to hear back is not always a negative thing. Key decisions like who to recruit may take a long time for recruiters and companies to come to terms with. Even if you didn't get the job right away, it doesn't imply you won't get it in the near future.

You and the Employer Had a Beneficial Discussion
Interviews are nothing more than business casual chats. Was it, then, a successful one? Did you and the interviewer talk about topics and have a great interaction? In the event that you and your interviewer get along well, it's a sure indicator that you'll be getting a job offer shortly.

There is a connect between you and them.
Recruiting for potential candidates is merely another way of stating that entrepreneurs like to work with people who are just like them. If you and your interviewer have a common interest, such as your master thesis, it's a sure indicator they appreciate you as a person.

Affirmations of Success
In other words, if your interviewer says they think you'll be a good fit, that's usually what they think! Your employer isn't going to tell you lies, so you may assume that everything positive they say is genuine. An excellent indication to look for is encouraging comments, such as saying your response was great or that you have the persona they're searching for.

Take a look at the way they're acting.
During the interview, did your interviewer seem distracted by their phone or their notes? Aside from smiling, did they appear to be engrossed in the conversation? Body language may reveal a great deal about a person's thoughts. It can even tell you if you're impressing or boring your interviewers by giving you a tip.

You had a feeling of Being Capable.
You've answered all the questions, don't you think? Were you prepared to answer each question confidently? It's likely that you come off as confident and competent if you answered yes to these questions. These are unquestionably excellent things to say during an interview. It's okay to be hopeful if everything went well during the interview.

You Had Your Questions Ready
Getting all your queries resolved before you get to present them during an interview is not a pretty sight. You should never run out of things to discuss before even starting, because this is a bad indication.
The answers to these questions reveal your level of interest, as well as your ability to think critically and to prioritise your job search. Ideally, your inquiries should prompt a response from the other party.

Your interview went beyond its allotted time.
If your half hour conversation evolved into a 1-hour meeting, it's a good indication. Interviewers will not want to spend their time with a candidate they dislike. When an interviewer takes the time to ask you additional questions or engage in actual discussion with you, it's a positive sign.
An interview that ends a few minutes early isn't a good indication, but if it continues beyond even a few minutes, it typically signals good things for you.

The following actions you should take:
Sending a thank-you note to your interviewer afterward is always a smart idea. No matter what they said or how they welcomed you, this will be remembered far more than a simple thank-you card. If you haven't heard anything about your interview after a few weeks, don't be afraid to give your interviewer a call to check in.
Aim to send no more than two emails each day and make no more than one phone call per day. The last thing you want to do is annoy your potential employer!
