How to manage interns

Enhancing Out Of Office Communication of Team Workers

It's all about getting involved. There's a pretty clear link between how close your team members are to each other and how engaged they are. When it comes to things like profits, productivity, and turnover, engaged companies always do better than their competitors. (If you ask us, this is pretty important stuff.) And it makes sense that the closer you are to your coworkers, the happier you'll be at work and the more likely you'll be to give up your free time to help them succeed.

Enhancing Out Of Office Communication of Team Workers
Everyone builds good or at least cordial relationships with their teammates at their workplace. But are the team members keeping that communication alive while out of office as well? It takes time and effort to build a team that supports and connects with one another.
The primary focus of a traditional office environment is on the business at hand, not on developing personal relationships among employees.

However, by staying connected apart from business hours is what strengthens this bond. An enthusiastic workforce is at the centre of a healthy office community. This commitment is often dependent on the intimate connections the employees build with their colleagues.
When you hire interns, expect that they would want to network more. Encouraging out-of-office bond for them will help them stay more productive and engaged.

This article gives you some tips on how you can improve the workplace communication of your team while out of the office as well.

1.    Team Building Activities:
Having regular team building activities with your colleagues improves motivation and productivity. These exercises will range from a brief problem-solving session to a two-day retreat. And, while some people see team building as a "pleasant change" from daily work, it has a real purpose: it helps the employees improve their talents and expertise, while better connection with team mates.

2.    Weekend Outings:
Often multidisciplinary teams collaborate to accomplish a common purpose. However, there could be certain obstacles to the seamless operation of the teams, likely owing to a lack of coordination. This can breed discontent and reduce overall morale in the workplace. During those moments, it's a smart idea to get them to work together outside the workplace to achieve a shared purpose. It also allows them to break away from their monotonous schedule.

3.    Weekday Outings:
A lot of co-workers who meet each other out of office during weekdays portray a better engagement at work. That is because they seek an outlet to unwind themselves after a long day of work. And if that can be done with office mates themselves, what better idea than that? Employees are often told these days to stop living for the weekend and do some activities during the week to keep their minds fresh.

4.    Networking at Work:
Some people are introvert, they find it tough to form relationships. But if they make efforts, at least networking within the office will also give good results. They will open up and form better out of work connects as well. In any case, before heading out for that pint of beer, it's always a good thing to have a good connection and standing with the colleagues.

Studies show that one of the most important things for people's overall happiness and success at work is having meaningful relationships with their team. If your new interns like the way you do things at work, they are more likely to work with you and help you solve problems. Having a personal touch with your young hires can give you unexpected good results, so dont underestimate the power of casual connects with your team.
