If you need to contact Sue Carpenter, please do so direct via the website for the film belmaya dot com.** Tideturner Films is an independent documentary film production company, producing films that spark change - turn the tide - on injustice. This year will see the release of Tideturner's first feature documentary, I Am Belmaya, an inspirational tale of a young woman in patriarchal Nepal who takes the movie camera and power into her own hands, to transform her life. The film follows Belmaya's 5-year journey to become an award-winning filmmaker while exploring themes of domestic violence, gender and caste discrimination and education for girls. We are seeking a media intern to assist director/producer Sue Carpenter in creating and implementing the social media marketing strategy for I Am Belmaya, and redesigning and developing the Tideturner Films website.Job description- Helping create the strategy for promoting I Am Belmaya, growing 'brand' awareness, reaching new audiences and growing followers- Working across Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts - Composing engaging posts, e.g. cut-down short videos, photographs with a message, texts- Researching and optimising hashtags- Redesigning and developing the Tideturner Films website (currently rarely used). - Optimising and potentially further developing the (active) I Am Belmaya film website. - SEO- potential for working on publicity, fundraising, promotional materials, independent screenings and other areas, as this film nears its release at festivals and cinemas Ideal candidate - Self-motivated- Focused, organised and systematic - Excellent written skills and attention to detail - Interest in film and filmmaking a plus - Excited to be part of a small team and contributing creatively to what we hope will be an award-winning film - Your name in the film credits! To start:1-2 days a week for up to 3-5 months NB This is not a summer vacation internship Qualifications - You will have studied in the field of social media / digital marketing / communications / website design - Ability to work with images, graphic design and video - Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro a plus
