Job Description – New Business Assistant **IMPORTANT** This role is only open to those applying for or receiving Universal Credit. Do you enjoy the thrill of sales, closing deals and forging partnerships? Then this role as New Business Assistant with Great British Mag is for you. We are an award-winning lifestyle magazine for international students. Our content illuminates and entertains our readers and gives them an authentic insight into what it is really like to live and study in the UK. The role. We are looking for an ambitious and energetic graduate, who wants to build a career in the media industry, to join the company on a six-month training contract under the Government’s Kickstarter Scheme, with an opportunity to be hired full time after the end of the training. What will the role involve?  Managing our affiliate contracts with brands and working with the editorial team to embed them into content being produced.  Researching and creating sales leads  Managing the sales database  Working with existing advertisers to create new ways in which they can promote their offering  Producing monthly sales reports  Giving presentations to senior management  Attending events as an ambassador for Great British Mag Personal attributes required  Good communication skills  Confident telephone manner and during meetings  Logical and methodical approach to projects  A team player that wants to contribute to building the GB Mag brand  Works well under pressure and copes well with deadlines Skills required Training will be provided in these areas, but some knowledge would accelerate your progress  Knowledge of using Word, Excel, Google Docs and Dropbox. Training to be provided Your training will be made up of the following:  On the job learning with supervision from a member of the team  Weekly one-to-one training session with a senior team member  Monthly review meetings Practical training will be given on:  Sales  How to use affiliate networks, such as Awin  How to create compelling presentations for new advertisers Start date 10 May 2021 Location Remote with some meetings in central London when necessary until further notice. Working hours & pay 25 hours per week, from 10am to 4pm. You will be paid the minimum hourly wage based on age. How to qualify for this post In order to be considered you will need to be a graduate that is claiming Universal Credit.
