Contract: 1 Year fixed term Internship (flexibility for the right candidate) Start date: As soon as possible Place of work: Home working, with occasional travel to meetings in London (with contribution towards travel to meetings). Reports to: Stakeholder Engagement & Communications Manager Hours of work: 37.5 hours; normally 9am – 5.30pm Holidays: 28 days per annum plus bank holidays Salary: This is a paid internship: c23K subject to candidate profile Benefits: The BBP offers a range of benefits, some of which include: Flexible working arrangements & hours Team volunteering House plant scheme & more sustainable initiatives ABOUT THIS ROLE This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to embark on a career in sustainability, marketing and communications. You will be working with a small, friendly and dynamic team who will support your personal and professional development. You’ll work across a range of exciting projects which have a real and scalable impact in the commercial real estate industry. The role is focused on communications and stakeholder engagement and tasks and could include anything from developing press releases, infographics and social media posts to stakeholder engagement, including supporting some of our key face to face meetings with members. You will learn firsthand how to effectively engage a range of stakeholders on this important agenda. This is an exciting opportunity to work with an industry leading organisation within the commercial property sector. Working closely with our members and external stakeholders, you’ll learn about both sustainability and commercial real estate, and engage with influential and widely respected individuals and organisations from across the industry. ABOUT THE BETTER BUILDINGS PARTNERSHIP The BBP is a collaboration of leading property owners who are working together to improve the sustainability of commercial buildings. Our members are made up of over 50 leading commercial property owners, with over £300bn Assets under Management, who are working together to improve the sustainability performance of commercial buildings. We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic about sustainability and creating impact, to help us achieve our aims to: Enable market transformation through sustainability leadership and collaboration. Improve professional understanding through knowledge sharing. Develop common approaches with our members, stimulating the property industry to deliver buildings that perform better. You can read more about our work here. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We’re looking for someone to join our team and help coordinate across our programme of work. Working with our Stakeholder engagement and communications manager, the kind of work you will be involved in will include: Preparing social media posts for LinkedIn and Twitter Drafting news items and updates for BBP and MAP websites Engaging with press and media contacts to share our mission Helping to organise BBP hosted meetings and events including member events, volunteer days, team building and more Proofreading BBP publications, articles, reports and case studies Supporting the delivery of the BBP’s weekly and quarterly newsletters Helping to communicate workstream specific projects and outputs General ad-hoc support for the communications manager and other team members, as required PERSONAL SPECIFICATION We celebrate diversity and inclusion and are looking for an individual who: Is self-starting and takes initiative Can work effectively in a small team Has excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively and in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders Has excellent verbal and written communication skills Can manage a wide range of tasks and responsibilities simultaneously Has a positive and professional attitude Has high levels of personal integrity Is a team player Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required: A relevant undergraduate degree (or experience / qualification) Native or bilingual proficiency in both spoken and written English Excellent written and communication skills and a strong attention to detail Experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) The ability to work under pressure and multi task Strong research and analysis skills An interest and passion for sustainability Desirable: Content writing Experience of using social media platforms and running social media accounts Experience of website development / management Experience working with platforms including Canva, Survey Monkey and Mailchimp Previous experience organising and delivering events APPLICATION DETAILS If this sounds like you, please send your CV and a short (no more than one page) covering letter.
