Are you interested in learning to edit and becoming a fiction editor? Daydreamers Editing are looking for candidates with exceptional attention to detail, the ability to correct incorrect spelling and grammar, ensure text is coherent, as well as the aptitude to develop edit and teach. We are also looking for training coordinators and developers, with experience in teaching online, to help develop our training programme that aims to solidify our style of editing and ensure the highest standard of work for our customers. As well as being given the opportunity to edit manuscripts, volunteers will have full reign of the 'The Little Mag' magazine, giving you great editorial project management experience! Daydreamers Editing is a specialised service that is tailored towards non-fluent English and beginner writers. It also takes a teaching approach by giving detailed advice on character, plot, voice, POV etc. as well as comments and feedback so a good understanding of creative writing, or the ability to understand prose well, is essential. It is also designed for those with low income in mind, so prices are set at a very low range. We are looking for people who are passionate, dedicated to the team and contributing, and particularly interested in hearing from people who love editing and teaching! Remote & local working Extra incentives: Although we are not paying at the moment, we are providing you with invaluable transferable skills. For those who are passionate about our business and brand and are committed to helping develop the organisation, we reward you in many little ways by random chocolate postings, a couple of bottles of wine, dominoes pizza etc. (we won't name it all otherwise it won't be a surprise!). As part of the consideration to work ethically and with corporate social responsibility we create initiatives to help people locally and globally. This means that there may be opportunities for travelling - funded by us - for those who have proven they are dedicated. To sum up the roles and responsibilities for editorial volunteers: Help proofread and copyedit manuscripts, ‘The Little Mag’ articles and blog posts, and liaising with authors. Undertake in training provided by Daydreamers Editing. Attend meetings regarding the development of training and Daydreamers' business strategy. Work together with other editorial volunteers to create and design the regular 'The Little Mag' publication. All specifics will be decided by the interns but must follow the brand style guide and think intuitively about business strategy. Don't worry though, I will be overseeing the projects throughout. I have to emphasise, as this is a voluntary position, it is completely down to choice and you don't have to do these things. This is a volunteer/freelance position. We are looking for 4 interns and a good list of freelancers to work with. NB: You may be asked to undertake a short proofreading and copyediting test.
