Setting up your Ideal Home Office as an Intern
You undoubtedly have read how to keep productive when working virtually if you are new to the world of work from home.
It's time to handle the practical aspect of life when you get hired for remote internship. It calls for preparing your own home office without any disturbance and full scope for focusing on work.
Initially you may work from your living room or kitchen platform or dining table. But ultimately you'll have to create the right working space for yourself. We can help you create that space. Read on how you can set up your home office and stay productive.

Requirements for your workspace home:
•    It should be calm:
You need a peaceful place to focus especially if you have joined as a new intern. The ideal approach is to work with solid walls in a separate room. This is especially crucial if you live with anyone, parents, family members, siblings, or animals. Buy sound-canceling headphones or even a White Noise Machine in your room if possible.

•    You must have privacy:
You might love your dog a lot, but it making noises while you are in a call won’t put a good impression on your boss. You want to represent your professionalism and poise as an intern or an entry-level hired person. Where feasible, this involves obtaining a private workspace.

•    Have a lot of light:
Natural light is an enormous energy source, so consider working near a window. You will be more careful, creative and cheerful—plus you won’t stress your eyes. Consider buying a decent desk lamp—or take periodic pause and go outside to get vitamin D if you can't work near the natural light.

•    Have a separate work desk/room:
It is vital to have a separate workstation to attain work-life balance. That's excellent if you've got a separate room. With a separate workstation, you can close off for the say once your work is done.

Basic Necessities for Work Station:
Besides a beautiful workstation, your home office requires some materials for an efficient task execution. Your desk requirements depend on your work, hence several important elements have to be taken into account.

•    A table: A study table to work on is the most basic item required for home office. If you want you can set it up just like an office. That's all up to you, big or tiny, standing or seated. You can split a part of the dining room table if you don't have place for a real desk.
•    An adjustable chair: It is also vital to have a comfy and ergonomic chair so that you do not hurt your back while sitting for long hours, but we recommend regular pauses to refresh and stretch your body. Read some articles about the correct posture if you don't have it.
•    Records and folders storage: Most of your job is now virtual, but for your paper docs and other critical documents, you'll require additional space. Organise them well, since they might be required for various reasons, in and out of your office.
•    Internet: Seamless internet is a must for working from home. A lot of companies are making it mandatory nowadays. Ensure that wherever you're working from, you have a fast broadband connection. Use a WiFi extension, if required, to boost the signal.
•    Stationary: Always keep a notebook, some pens and post its on your desk should you require it. It's also useful to have the essentials of a workplace handy, since typing always may not be feasible.

Getting Support from Employer for Home Office Set Up

While companies are hesitant to buy office equipment for WFH set up, some businesses provide stipend for materials needed – and many offer basics such as headsets, a keyboard, a mouse and a docking port to get you started. You can spend it accordingly if that’s the case. If they don’t offer to cover any such expenses, contact HR and understand the reimbursement policies of the firm.
