1. Have I Achieved Any of My Career Goals?
It's likely that you set specific goals when you started your internship. Reflecting on these goals can enhance your internship self-assessment. What's more essential is that, was there a project you were in charge of helped you gain more? Did you get the growth you were hoping for? Or did you merely go through the routine work without making any meaningful advancements.Whether it's something big like earning a raise or something minor like updating your CV, make a note of what you've accomplished. It is a great motivational tool to realise your accomplishments, and areas where you still have to work on.
2. Have I Enhanced My Skills?
You can tell if you've grown as a professional by looking at your skill set before and after joining the internship. What did you do this year to improve your knowledge and skills in your field? You should be ready to show out how you've progressed, whether you were able to exercise leadership or grasp a new corporate method.Did you give presentations or take seminars or skills courses? This is a list of items that can help you improve your abilities. Ask your employer for some advice if you're not certain if your abilities have developed. Whether you've added additional value can be determined by your supervisor.
3. Did This Internship Make Me Happy?
What makes you happy? If the response to this reflective question is yes, then go further to find out what it is that made you satisfied and happy while interning. Your work is a passion for you? Is your team amazing? Does it have anything to do with the challenging assignments and skill development?Remember what makes you happy at work and use it as a driving force as your career progresses. Everything can bring you happiness at work. But pay attention to certain elements that make your job more enjoyable. Integrate them in your job today and in the future. But if your answer is no, find out what's making you miserable and whether you'll have the chance to alter it in the future.
4. What Are My Next Career Goals and How Will I Prepare?
As long as you are willing to learn from your mistakes and make adjustments, your future will be full of achievements. Prepare a strategy to make the internship a success, by completing your career review at the end. Have at least 4-5 goals, broken down into quarterly, monthly, and weekly goals. That will help you to observe how far you've come.Talk about your objectives with the responsible people - your employer, your family, your spouse — and come up with a strategy to achieve your goals. Decide what makes you happy.
