Adding a Branding Statement to your CV

A branding statement for CV, also known as a personal branding statement, should be placed at the top of your CV, just below your contact details. If you do a good job of selling yourself, the employer will want to learn more about you after reading this section. Including a well-crafted branding statement for CV can increase your chances of receiving interview calls promptly.
Adding a Branding Statement to your CV

The rising popularity of individual branding and an ongoing competitive employment market has enhanced the usage of branding statements in CVs.

Why Include a Branding Statement in Your CV?

A branding statement is a brief yet captivating statement that emphasises on your most significant skills in less than 15 words. You may highlight your main skills in an extended summary statement apart from adding a branding statement.

Steps to Write an Effective Branding Statement

To start with, make a list of your qualifications in relation to the internship you are applying for. List your achievements from previous assignments, projects, certifications or championships, ones that add extra value to your skill set.

List your personal attributes that have helped you achieve these achievements - personalities, abilities, etc. See your target job criteria (you may do so by viewing the posts online), and then include everything in your list of achievements and assets that coincide with these job needs.

You should include one or two keywords in your branding statement highlighting your forte, the targeted job title and a couple of your achievements.

Ideally it should come between your contact details and your experience section. For example:

Sharing Your Branding Statement on Social Media

Once you create a branding statement, share it on all of your social media handles. Promote it to gain leads on your job search. Connect with your network and share your profile. Current times call for a good branding and marketing of self if you want to grab good opportunities. This is a must for graduates who are looking to start their careers with internships or entry level jobs.
