If you want to stand out from the crowd while applying for internships, you must demonstrate some outside academic success on your CV. Engaging in co-curricular activities like sports teams, student organizations, community service, and part-time jobs offers numerous benefits of co-curricular activities, helping you build friendships, enjoy university life, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Yet it will also make you a more competitive applicant for graduate positions by providing you with several real-world examples to highlight your abilities in CV and interviews. Boosting your career path certainly starts with university co-curricular activities.

When it comes to starting their job searches, today's university graduates are in a sticky situation. Even for entry-level positions, employers prefer candidates with extra exposure. By doing things outside of your school/university, students learn more about themselves. They realise how they might use their skills in unknown circumstances.

So, what should a university student do?
The good news is that there are many ways for college students like you to avoid getting stuck in the thought that you can't get the right chance. You can make the most of the duration of your education to help create a CV that will stand out during your job hunt. Upon learning from various hiring managers, we found that below are the points sought out by employers from recent graduates.

1. Enroll in Relevant Courses and Certifications

While you are still in university , doing some relevant courses and certifications adds to the many positives of your profile. Those certifications, a lot many times, help you get entry in the company of your choice. They also help you accomplish any demo assignments with required accuracy which impresses the recruiters.

2. Participate in On-Campus Organizations

How active you are on the campus? Do you take part in extra-curricular activities? Are you leading a group of some sort, like literary magazine or sports club or finance club, etc.? Heavily involving yourself in such activities still while studying adds confidence to your persona, and boosts your profile. You learn how to manage stuff, which in turn assists you landing a job quickly.

3.  Gain Exposure Through Field Trips

Field trips are a nice way to gain exposure. While you work on university projects, going out and meeting different people to learn more on the subject and how it works provide you with additional knowledge. And who knows, any one of those people might hire you?

4. Volunteer for Community Service

Volunteering is a valuable co-curricular activity that enhances your career development by providing practical experience and expanding your professional network. Voluntary work allows you to gain experience in a variety of fields and sectors. It certainly helps build new skills and expand your professional network. You might even get a reference from your volunteer work.

5. Undertake Personal Projects and Initiatives

Try building your own projects, even if small, like creating websites for friends or for self, even for any NGOs or Government shelters. You will find ample benefits of showing your own projects on your CV. This amplifies your candidature and employers’ trust ration on you increases. Offering your resources and experience like such also shows your personality and dedication to helping others.

So what more are you waiting for with these practical ways to gain school experience? You can't create a solid job application overnight, so don't put it off until you're about to graduate. There are numerous ways to begin developing your CV. Strive to improve it throughout your academic career. When filling out job application forms, you should include details the skills and knowledge you've gained from your extracurricular activities.

Apprenticeships, volunteer opportunities, student jobs, and campus involvement will provide you with a variety of knowledge and skills that companies will value. So go out there and get a leg up on your competition.
