Securing Your Dream Job

Does Your Company Cares for Your Professional Growth? Yes, If It Follows These 6 Routes

If you intend to remain employed at your current company for an extended period of time, your relationship with management is one of the most important factors in your professional development. As an employee, how can you determine if your company is serious about helping you grow in your career? These are six indications that your organisation is invested in your future and your success in reaching that future.
Does Your Company Cares for Your Professional Growth? Yes, If It Follows These 6 Routes
Your relationship with your company is crucial, especially if you're aiming to transition from an internship to a full-time role. Recognizing signs your company supports professional growth can guide your career decisions. How can you know whether your employer really supports your career?

1.    Regular One-on-One Meetings: You have regular 1:1 meetings with them. When your manager sits and talks to you about your performances and problems every week, when they advise you about how to meet your goals and do well in your internship, that’s a sign they care about your professional growth. Make the most of these meetings by sharing and discussing the important topics.

2.    Clear Career Roadmaps: Your company has shared the Career Roadmap for interns to grow and learn. Most companies who want to expand have a set of roadmaps for all positions, including the internships. When they share one with you, it’s a way of saying that they want to see in the next role provided you do well.

3.   Defined Expectations:  They have shared clear expectations with you. A lot many times, companies treat their interns as extras. But those who treat them like a part of the team are the ones popular amongst the candidates.
Statements like the below will help you realise your potential to move upwards.
•    “We would like to see you in the lead role in this quarter and for that you need to submit the XYZ reports in so-and-so manner.” Or
•    “How about taking the Assistance Business Analyst role? Learn the flow charts on the ABC project, so we can work on your next role.”

4.    Ongoing Performance Evaluations: They hold periodical performance reviews. They don’t let you go off on your own. Good managers review your performance regularly. They keep you posted about the progress you are making, or any improvements that you have to make. This helps you become confident and productive.

5.    Encouragement of Networking Opportunities: Your company encourages you to participate in networking and mentoring events. They know how important professional networking is. They would want you to gain exposure and meet the team members as well as other industry fraternity through various such events. This manifests good working relations, personality grooming and ample work opportunities for future.

6.    Access to Learning and Development Resources: They provide professional development opportunities through continuous learning and skill enhancement programs. Learning never really ends, particularly among the current day working men and women, where things evolve continuously. However, more professional training can also assist advancement in careers. You will receive education opportunities at a firm that wishes you to accomplish real skills.
This commitment may be demonstrated in various ways: providing free access to courses, issuing refunds for tuition, delivering lectures and much more.

Companies that truly care about their teams will always go out of their way to make everyone feel like they belong. It doesn't matter if they've been there for three weeks or three years.
The most successful companies recognise the value of teamwork and encourage their employees to put their best efforts forward.
