The Right Questions Interns can Ask about Office Reopening

Can I feel secure returning to my job? It's important to be well-versed with the company's return-to-work policies and processes in advance of employees' scheduled return. As a best practise, your organisation should provide written documentation detailing its safety procedures. As a core method of communication, it ensures that everyone in the firm is on the same page with regards to what is expected of them. As an intern you can ask the below questions to the management about office reopening.
The Right Questions Interns can Ask about Office Reopening
If you're an intern who works from home, your office is about to reopen, and you have to start Work from Office, I know you won't be thrilled. Though you should be since no better learnings than working at office, interacting with people in person. But I also know that you might give up your strong desire to work from home and go back to the office because you were told to.

But no one can stop you from asking the office staff questions or getting answers to your questions about how the post office will work again.
Things have changed. Most of the population is vaccinated and ready to fight this. It's up to employers to make sure their workers have a safe place to work. We will help you with the questions you should ask before starting work from office.

1.    What kind of safety measures have you taken for employees coming back to office?
2.    Are the sanitisation and cleaning duties in line with the guidelines set by local health authorities?
3.    How are we going to manage the physical distancing aspect?
4.    Are you planning to call the complete work force or only a few teams?
5.    What are guideline for employees to follow while working at office? DO we have to wear mask all the time?
6.    How do you plan to manage employees who feel sick or are ill and could be a threat to others?
7.    Are there any new work policies in place, if so, is there a training session/documentation for the same?
8.     Are there any health check-up camps to be available for employees?

These are some basic but crucial questions to ask your employers if they ask you to come back to office. There is nothing wrong in doing so and they should be able to provide you satisfactory responses for the same. Alternatively, you can also be proactive and suggest some employee plus employer friendly ideas that are easy to implement. Doing a temperature check is the most common measure any company takes, and even face recognition attendance is quite in these days.

Apart from asking the right questions, your small yet powerful inputs will not only make you a solution oriented person, it will also show that you care for your teammates. During the pandemic, the concept of workplace safety has taken on new meaning for many people, particularly those who work in offices. It's natural to have queries before going back to a shared space.

Remember that the most crucial part is that you feel confident that you will be safe on the job. These are just a few questions that you can ask your employer. Consult with other interns too if they have any other concerns around this and put a collective query in front of the management. Trust that they will ensure your safety at the workplace.
