Guide to Include your Contact Information on Your CV

Placing your contact information at the top of your CV ensures employers can easily reach you. You want to make it simple and quick for a potential employer to get in touch with you, so make sure to include any relevant contact information in a clearly marked part of your CV. Below we'll tell you how to include your contact information on your CV.

Guide to Include your Contact Information on Your CV
Amongst the most important sections of your CV, one is of Contact Info. It’s of utmost importance to include your contact information on your CV, otherwise, how would the employer contact you, should your CV gets shortlisted? You would want them to contact you without any difficulty, right? Hence, instead of simply giving indirect links to your work or simply a name to identify yourself, there’s much more that should be mentioned to contact you.

What to Include in Your CV Contact Section

Full Name

Of course. Anonymous candidates hardly reserve a glance from employers. Mention your actual name on the CV, also that it should be consistent on all the job boards like Graduatewise, or your social media profiles, so you can be searched and authenticated without second thoughts.

Email Address

It’s advised to use your personal email address to mention on your professional profile, and not a work email id(if you are volunteering or getting additional experience elsewhere), because,
1) All emails are traced by the respective IT department
2) Mixing up work and personal emails is not the right things to do
Hence, have a separate email account for job search, with proper credentials. LovefromMetoYou@xyz.com isn’t going to help the employers take you seriously. Create the id using your actual name and keep a check on it from time to time, so you are aware if any employers contacting you.
Upon registering on Graduatewise, and creating a profile on that would help you access so many potential employers that would speed up your selection process.

Postal Address

Include your current city and state in the contact information on your CV to inform employers of your location. Keep it clear with the right floor and building number, along with the city and state. It’s possible that the employers may want to connect you via post for any specific reasons. So always mention the one address where you could be easily available.

Phone Number

Mention your working contact number where to the employers can reach out if they wish to speak with you. Or have the voicemail on, so you may receive any messages (if left) from them later on. Double-check the contact number mentioned. One digit mistake make jeopardize your whole career.

Below is a sample that you can refer to while formatting your contact info

  • ·Postal Address
  • ·City (Postal Code)
  • ·State
  • ·Phone Number
  • ·Email ID
  • ·Website URL/Graduatewise Profile URL
Once you do this, make sure you go through the complete info carefully. It's best to make no mistake, at least when it comes to contacting yourself. It's common to make mistakes but make sure that you don’t fall in the trap.
