Tips to Make Sure your Work Gets Due Recognition
One of the greatest teaching during your internship is that it's not enough just to perform outstanding work. You must ensure that everyone else is also aware of it. You could be concerned that this would sound overconfident. Yet, the more your work is visible to the concerned people, better are your chances of receiving a full time job offer. And if you work remotely, more efforts may be needed to ensure that these talks take place.

Why must you work on Getting Noticed?
If no one knows what you are doing and how you managed to complete the task with so little training, then any new projects or tasks might land up in someone else’s kitty, despite you doing the complete hard work. That’s why you need to show your work, and stay as visible as you can. Very early in your career, learn to speak about your work and achievement for better growth, promotions, appraisals and gaining other perks. Here’s how you can do that without sounding vain and obnoxious.

1.    Showcase how your achievements can contribute to your teammates' success.
It not only helps you – it may also aid other team members to develop and learn, your achievements. Presenting your significant goal as a conclusion of the course might be one approach to address the subject.
2.    Offer credence to others and that might come back to you as a reward
One approach to assist others and make them learn more about your work is to call out the initiatives of your co-workers. That way you contribute to establish a workplace culture where praising the work of others is common and encouraged by providing positive remarks. “Speak out including your team, like: My fellow interns and I worked really hard to achieve this…” or “I would like to thank my teammates to help achieve this...”
3.    Keep your boss up to date with your success stories
Presumably, your employer advocates anyway for you, so that more people with the power to promote you realise that you are doing an excellent job. But you don't always get the ideal employer at times, and you have to assist them oversee your apprenticeship. Take your victories in one-on-one sessions to help them notice your talents.
4.    Becoming an Expert
Do you see yourself as a 'jack of all trades' – a person with many diverse jobs – or 'specialist' – an expert in a particular domain? Do not forget to examine these crucial soft skills if you are looking to become a specialist in a specific sector.
To help your employer handle an important issue among your team, your expertise would help you more than you can imagine.
5.    Take on More Tasks
Your manager and other executives will also recognise you when you show your desire to assume additional work whenever possible. You shouldn't overload yourself, though. However, you may take advantage of a new project or job that will enable you to improve your abilities. Do this, especially if it has a high level of visibility or substantial influence in the organisation.
Design and process optimisation are of special importance. It might be useful to develop an image as an expert or creative thinker.

Some more essentials to get recognised at work
  • Keep yourself updated professionally–Read business bulletins or other information that keeps you informed about trends and technologies. You never know when and how this information could help you.
  • Search a mentor – Professional counselling can be provided by mentors. There are possibilities that the Mentor themselves experienced the same problems. They can assist you effectively navigate through them.
  • Participate in activities at your workplace – Volunteers may assist you expand your connection throughout your company for activities, including participating in a marathon or leading a youth squad.
At any workplace, recognition works both ways. Pay attention to the places where you can make changes, and tell your boss when you think you deserve a raise. Taking initiative to get what you want out of your job can be a great way to deal with the disappointment of being overlooked for promotions and advancements.
