What is a Career Path?

A career path is a set of occupations that have similar abilities and are aligned with your long-term goals. This pathway is made up of your initial job role as an intern and the ones that follow it. A route or track is a subset of a larger collection of careers known as a career cluster.
A career path has traditionally followed a vertical line to represent a progression through the ranks. It has the freedom to navigate horizontally as well. Lateral movements occur when you accept an equal job or salary in the same organisation, another business, or sector. If you accept a job with lower salary or less responsibility, you are taking a step back.
