Grabbing Interview Opportunities

How to Answer - What Management Style Do You Prefer?

It's a good sign that the recruiting manager cares about the company's future if they inquire about your preferred management style. It also shows that you care about fitting in well with the team and the company's culture. But how should you answer if they ask - What Management Style Do You Prefer?

How to Answer - What Management Style Do You Prefer?
The managerial style is a unifying factor in companies with low turnover and high levels of employee engagement. Employers want to select someone who will be happy in their role. This leads to asking about their preferred working style throughout the interview process.
Telling a potential employer about the management style with which you are most comfortable will give them insight into your teamwork, time management, and interpersonal skills. Be prepared with an open and honest response by following these guidelines.

Consider your ideal occupation.
Think about your ideal employment, visualising the duties and perks of the position. What is it that would make you look forward to going to work each day?
Then, ask yourself these inquiries about the ideal manager for this position:
  •     How do I feel about being a part of decision making versus being given orders?
  •     How can I effectively motivate myself?
  •     Do I function better in a team environment or on my own?
  •     Just how do I improve my listening skills?
  •     Which type of management, hands-off or always available, do I prefer?
  •     How flexible of a schedule do I need in my job?
Perform your research
To understand about the company's product/service, mission, and core values, you should look at their website, social media profiles like LinkedIn, and other online documents. Include details about how you feel a connection to the topic at hand.

Be specific.
Do your research on the organisation. You can find out about guidelines, efforts, or schemes that you might be interested in, like good health care perks or an employee assistance programme.
By giving these details, you'll show the interviewer that you've done your homework. That you can talk intelligently about what the company has to offer. For example, you could say that you like working for a boss who encourages people to use the company's help programmes.

Be an optimist.
If asked this question at an interview, expect to have to think about times when you failed as a manager. Don't dwell on the negative while answering. Interviewers are curious about your personality and whether you will be a good fit for the company.
It's important to emphasise that the ideal manager should have faith in your skills without going on a tirade.

To put it simply, it's a match.
Being qualified for a position requires more than just knowledge, experience, and abilities. To make sure everyone finds a terrific and lasting match, it's important to know how you prefer to be managed. If you answer this question truthfully, you'll be one step closer to finding the right boss for you and the perfect internship for you.
