Grabbing Interview Opportunities

Questions that can get Interns Rejected from Interviews

Interviews are two-way street; the employer is trying to figure out if the candidate is a good fit for the position, and the candidate is trying to figure out if they can see themselves working there successfully. Interns have an obligation to probe for information that will help them decide whether or not to apply for a position. You shouldn't be overly picky, but you should be ready to ask whatever questions would help you choose the most compatible partner. Below are some Questions that can get Interns Rejected. Read on to know about them.
Questions that can get Interns Rejected from Interviews
Your internship interview is over. You responded excellently to all the questions your interviewer asked and demonstrated your expertise and competence. By the end of it, you are ready to celebrate with your friends. And then the interviewer asks you one more question: 'Have you got any questions for me?' Your confidence makes you feel you'll pass this one too, with flying colours. But one wrong question, and you may get rejected as well.

You might wonder how asking a question could go wrong, but certain questions are common intern interview errors that can hurt your internship opportunity. Pay attention to the questions listed here to avoid asking them in any job interview. Avoid internship interview mistakes by steering clear of questions that can lead to rejection.

1.    What does the company do?

Before an interview, you should carefully study a firm. This means knowing what the firm does, who its rivals are, who the leading executives are, and if they were in the news lately. Asking a question as fundamental as what the firm does will simply underline your unpreparedness.

2.    What are the chances of promotion?

Dude, you haven't even joined as an intern, and you are asking for a promotion? Employment managers enjoy seeing ambition in their possible new workers, but this question will have the interviewer interpret that you are not truly interested in the position you applied for. You might question something like "What is my growth potential in an enterprise?

3.    How quickly can I apply for holidays?

Maybe you're planning a trip now or you haven't had a holiday in two years and are eager for a break. You don't have to address such topics in your interview.
Wait for things like holidays and other advantages once you have been offered a job. You may always try to negotiate a better deal if you are unsatisfied with the offer.

4.    Are there allowances for employees?

Although everyone appreciates a great employee discount, it may make your interviewer believe that you're in it for free.
Only after receiving an offer may employee discounts and other advantages be addressed.

5.    What's the salary?

Wage debates are typically part of the interview, but like most things, everything should be discussed on time. In the early rounds of interviews do not ask for remuneration.
Employers will speak about this when they are certain that you are suited for the position. Initiate the subject on compensation only if you have received an offer or have gotten strong signs that an offer is coming.

6.    If I complete my job for a day, may I leave early?

While productivity is the rule of the day for many organisations, the applicant who's bothered about office timings, instead of learning and growth will turn off his employers. Employers need team players, excellent work ethics, and those who go above that. You will not benefit yourself by indicating that you are willing to do the very least.

7.    Do I have a drug test to take?

The query will give you the appearance that you are having anything to hide and trigger some significant red flags. Do not under any circumstances ask this question.

Above all, remember that interviews are not one way. The only way you will know whether this is the perfect job for you is to ask questions. Having some common questions in your back pocket might be beneficial. Asking the right questions is as important as answering interview correctly. Thank the interviewer for their time and express your continued interest in the position in a follow-up email or phone call after the interview. You may also try saying something like, "if there is anything else I can contribute to support my application, then do let me know," or providing some additional words to "sell" your application if you're feeling really bold.
