Sending Thank You Note on Getting Selected in Interviews

A well-written email saying "thank you" after an interview can be an invaluable tool. There is a widespread lack of submissions from applicants. Send insufficient or unappreciated thank-you notes. By following the advice in this article, you can send a meaningful thank-you note following an interview and maintain a productive dialogue.

Sending Thank You Note on Getting Selected in Interviews
So, you got selected for the interview at your choice of company. Wonderful, right? All your hard work of spending hours on creating a saleable CV and preparing yourself for the interview, finally paid off. You feel like your career is set.
But hold on for a while. It’s important to express your gratitude for the opportunity that the company is giving you to start your career with them. You should feel thankful that they found you to be a suitable candidate for their job opening. Therefore, that calls for a simple Thank You to them!

The Purpose of Writing Thank You Note
1.    Sending a thank-you note before you start with your new job is a good idea. It nurtures and enhances your professional relationships with your would-be teammates. You would be working with industry experts, receive top training, groom yourself for the next level tasks, and create your career with this one step.
2.    By expressing how thankful you are for the opportunity, will give you a positive edge. Express that you are excited to start with the next phase of your life with such an amazing team. Even the employers would feel that selecting you was definitely the right decision.
3.    It is always the right thing to do. It won’t cost you a dime, but it will earn you the trust of some best people out there. Sending thank you notes will set you apart from the rest, and makes you come across as a thoughtful and grateful person. It shows the employer that you value the job, and that you take it seriously.

Tips to write an Impressive Thank-you Note
While sending out the thank you letters to employer, there are a few points to keep in mind:
1.    Pick the right medium: Sending a thank-you over email sounds the right way to do it, but additionally, calling and thanking them for selecting you will do wonders as well. Try to keep the emails personalised, leading to a positive impact on people. A nice email or a phone call, or even a handwritten note (if you are a local) will go a long way in securing your place at the company.
2.    Stay Professional: It's all good to pen down a nice thank-you note but stay mindful of the fact that you would be connecting with your employers, and not friends, relatives or lover. Instead of being all mushy and emotional, keep the tone professional. Start your communication with them acting you are already an employee. This will help them accept you as one, even before you get onboarded.
3.    Keep it concise but meaningful: Writing heartfelt stories will not give you any bonus points, instead they may go against your conduct. So, learn the art of sending out short, yet meaningful content while writing a thank you note. Employers are busy people, so keep it short plus gracious, but also keep it to the point.

Thank You Notes are a great way to start on the right foot specially when you are about to start with a new job. Technology has become quite handy and these days everything is possible via mobile phones. So instead of being lazy and taking the golden opportunity of being an employee at your desired company, for granted, be a little grateful and become the star employee even before you start.
